Seafood Innovation and Transition Awards over $1.8 Million

Over $1.8 million approved through the Seafood Innovation and Transition program will help transition Newfoundland and Labrador towards a groundfish-based seafood industry. The Honourable Steve Crocker, Minister of Fisheries, Forestry and Agrifoods, announced the projects today at the Aquaculture Canada and Cold Harvest conference in St. John’s.

Newfoundland and Labrador’s tourism marketing efforts have been nominated for two top marketing awards presented by the Tourism Industry Association of Canada. The province’s Find Yourself marketing campaign is a finalist for the Fairmont Hotels and Resorts Marketing Campaign of the Year Award. In addition, the innovative Paint the Town Contest launched in May of this year is a finalist for the WestJet Social Media/Digital Marketing Initiative of the Year Award.
