Request for Proposals Intended to Enhance Driver's Licence and Photo ID Production

For the past 10 years, Newfoundland and Labrador and the other Atlantic Provinces have used software and equipment jointly procured from a third-party company to produce driver's licences. The current agreement with the company involved with producing driver's licences will expire next year. As such, the Atlantic Provinces have issued a Request for Proposals (RFP) to find the next-generation solution that will allow all four provinces to continue providing identification cards while improving security and reducing wait times.

Government Announces Interim CEO for Newfoundland and Labrador Housing

The Honourable Sherry Gambin-Walsh, Minister Responsible for the Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation, today announced that Tom Lawrence has been named Interim Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer of the Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation. The Independent Appointments Commission has been engaged to fill this position and will use the merit-based appointment process.

The province’s film industry continues to flourish thanks to the efforts of film organizations such as the Newfoundland Independent Film Cooperative (NIFCO) – an artist run organization that provides resources for emerging and established media artists in the province.
