Conservation officers with the Department of Fisheries, Forestry and Agrifoods, Forest Service Branch, seized an all-terrain vehicle and a dirt bike earlier this month while patrolling in the Happy Valley-Goose Bay area. Officers also issued seven tickets under the Motorized Snow Vehicle and All-Terrain Vehicles Act for violations of all-terrain vehicle (ATV) use along roadways.
Province’s First Canola Field Surpasses Expectations

This morning the harvest of the province’s first 30-acre canola field took place in Pasadena. The province’s first canola crop will help inform future activities and contribute to an increasingly innovative agriculture industry in Newfoundland and Labrador.

Federal-Provincial Investments Create Affordable Housing Options for Seniors

Anglican Homes Inc. officially opened The Babb Manor today in St. John’s, a new 24-unit affordable housing development for seniors. Fifteen of the building’s units were jointly funded by the Governments of Canada and Newfoundland and Labrador through the Investment in Affordable Housing (IAH) agreement. Programming and services space was funded through Newfoundland and Labrador Housing Corporation’s (NLHC) Provincial Homelessness Fund.
