Provincial Government Invests in Road Work in Southern Labrador

The Provincial Government is moving forward with road work in the Southern Labrador area this construction season with a project for leveling/paving of Route 510 from L'Anse au Clair to West St. Modeste. The project is being funded under the $62 million Provincial Roads Program. The Honourable Dwight Ball, Premier of Newfoundland and Labrador, together with the Honourable Al Hawkins, Minister of Transportation and Works, and Lisa Dempster, MHA for Cartwright - L'Anse au Clair, made the announcement in Labrador today.
Federal and Provincial Governments Recognize 150th Anniversary of the Laying of the First Transatlantic Cable

In recognition of the 150th anniversary of the first successful transatlantic cable landing on July 27 and to ensure the milestone is appropriately recognized for years to come, the Government of Canada and the Government of Newfoundland and Labrador are investing in the Town of Heart's Content event celebrations.
