OHS Charges Arise Involving Hazardous Workplace

The Eastern Regional Health Authority, a supervisor, and two workers have been charged with violations under the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the Asbestos Abatement Regulations in relation to an incident that occurred in May of 2014. The charges are the result of an investigation by the Occupational Health and Safety Branch of Service NL.

Province to Seek to Intervene in Oceanex v. Canada and Marine Atlantic

Residents planning to burn brush as part of spring clean-up activities should be aware of how quickly fire can spread beyond their property.

Mr. Speaker, I rise to advise the public about forest fire season, which began on May 1 on the island portion of the province and will begin on May 15 in Labrador. The season ends September 30 on the island and in Labrador.
