Community Services -- NOTE: The following is an op-ed piece from Community Services Minister Joanne Bernard. Community Services' programs serve the most vulnerable Nova Scotians, many with broad and complex needs. This work wouldn't be possible without the supports and services also delivered daily by community-run groups across the province.

Environment -- The Minister of Environment has completed a review of two of three appeals for the industrial approval issued March 9 to Northern Pulp.

Education and Early Childhood Development -- Students, staff and community members from Amherst celebrated the official opening of West Highlands School, today, June 8.

Trade Centre Limited -- More than 1,500 global leaders in marine mammalogy are coming to Nova Scotia and the new Halifax Convention Centre in 2017 for the international society's biennial conference.

Communities, Culture and Heritage -- Visitors to the opening ceremonies today, June 6, at the Black Loyalist Heritage Centre in Birchtown, Shelburne Co., were treated to performances by some of Nova Scotia's most talented artists, including a reading by Lawrence Hill, author of The Book of Negroes.

Human Rights Commission -- An independent Nova Scotia human rights board of inquiry in the case of Rodney Small v. Halifax Regional Municipality is scheduled to begin Tuesday, June 9.

Public Service Commission -- Sarah Hebb has been appointed as a Crown attorney in the Halifax office of the Public Prosecution Service.

Business -- Draft guidelines supporting the new Film and Television Production Incentive Fund are now available.
