Premier's Office -- Premier Stephen McNeil extended congratulations today, Aug. 28, to the five Nova Scotians who will be invested into the Order of Nova Scotia.

Natural Resources -- NOTE: A list of Forest Biodiversity Science Advisory Committee members follows this release. The Department of Natural Resources has created a Forest Biodiversity Science Advisory Committee to enhance the management of Nova Scotia's Crown-owned woodlands.

Health and Wellness -- Le ministère de la Santé et du Mieux-être a fermé la plage Bayswater du comté de Lunenburg à la baignade en raison d'un compte élevé de bactéries.

Health and Wellness -- The Department of Health and Wellness has closed Bayswater Beach in Lunenburg County to swimming because of high levels of bacteria.

Premier's Office -- Premier Stephen McNeil is leading a delegation to Asia on Saturday, Aug. 29, to promote trade and investment opportunities for Nova Scotia businesses and institutions.

Premier's Office -- Starting Tuesday, Sept. 1, ministerial expenses will be posted online. The government will also disclose expenses incurred by ministers' executive assistants.

Municipal Affairs -- First responders will be better equipped to respond to emergencies with about $500,000 in investments under the provincial Emergency Services Provider Fund.
