Education and Early Childhood Development -- C’est la rentrée scolaire cette semaine pour des milliers d’élèves de la Nouvelle-Écosse qui se retrouveront dans des classes moins nombreuses, trouveront plus de soutien en santé mentale, et auront accès à de nouveaux moyens d’obtenir de l’aide en lecture et en mathématiques.

Education and Early Childhood Development -- Thousands of Nova Scotia students heading back to school this week will find reduced class sizes, more mental health supports, and new ways to get help with their reading and math skills.

Labour and Advanced Education -- Government will start covering the cost of tuition for apprentices returning to the classroom for their technical training this fall.

Invest Nova Scotia -- Invest Nova Scotia announced the appointment of Tareq Hadhad of Antigonish to its board of directors today, Sept. 1.

Business -- The province and Cape Breton and Central Nova Scotia Railway Ltd. have signed a one-year preservation agreement to maintain the existing rail line between St. Peter’s Junction, near Port Hawkesbury, and Sydney.

Natural Resources -- Eleven wildlife species have been added to Nova Scotia’s list of species at risk.

Energy -- St. Margarets Bay residents will be better connected to Hammonds Plains Road with support from the province's sustainable transportation grant program, Connect2.

Environment -- Nova Scotia has received feedback on its proposed cap and trade program to further reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Innovacorp -- Innovacorp’s board of directors announced today, Aug. 30, the appointment of Malcolm Fraser as the organization’s new president and chief executive officer.

Premier's Office -- Premier Stephen McNeil will lead a delegation to Asia Wednesday, Aug. 30, to promote trade and investment opportunities in Nova Scotia.

Energy -- Sydney and Reserve Mines residents will be better connected to schools, shopping and recreation with support from the province's sustainable transportation grant program, Connect2.

Business -- The Spark Innovation Challenge, a popular startup competition, is expanding across the province with significantly more funding available to support innovation.
